One question a day, framed for the seat you sit in

A 6 AM email for private equity leaders: one question for the seat they sit in, the people they will face, and the cited evidence behind it — scored for how much signal there really is.

A live Signal/Noise Ratio edition: the day's question for a portfolio CEO, a signal score out of 100, and the evidence behind it.

Live product · a real edition

The problem it exists for

Why this was worth building

The industry produces an enormous amount of daily reading and almost none of it is addressed to a specific person with a specific day ahead. A partner does not need a digest of twenty stories. They need to know which one will come up in a meeting today, and what to do about it before it does.

The reading contract

Three seconds earns thirty. Thirty earns three minutes.

Every edition is built in layers. A reader can stop after any one of them and still have what they came for.

3 secondsThe question

The one thing that should govern the day, the article that surfaced it, and today’s signal score.

30 secondsMarket brief

One paragraph on what the market is reacting to, with every figure attributed to a named outlet.

3 minutesOutreach playbook

Three doors today’s news opened, who each one gets you in front of, and the first line to send. No pitch.

The dataScored and graded

Every source behind the question, with publisher and date, and all fifteen scored dimensions.

The score

Honest about how much signal there is

Every edition is scored out of 100 across fifteen dimensions. When the proof is not there, the score says so — most days are not “clear”, and the edition does not pretend otherwise.

Noise0–20

Little real signal in the day’s coverage.

Faint21–40

Signal is present, but the evidence is thin.

Mixed41–60

Real signal, contested or incomplete. Read selectively.

Strong61–80

Well-supported signal across several sources.

Clear81–100

Strong, uncontested signal.

Each edition also shows yesterday’s score, the 30-day average and the dominant tension — for example, DPI / cash versus paper.

How an edition is made

From the morning’s news to one question per seat

  1. Gather

The day’s private-equity coverage is collected from named trade and financial outlets, each kept with its publisher and date.

  2. Score

Each item is graded, and the day is scored across fifteen dimensions to find the dominant tension.

  3. Write per seat

The same evidence is written four times — one question, three counterparts and three discovery questions for each seat.

  4. Deliver at 6 AM

One email, before the day starts. The edition is also published to an open archive of the last seven days.

Four seats

Written four times, for four seats

The same evidence, read from where the reader actually sits. Each seat gets its own question, its own three counterparts and its own discovery questions.

General Partner

Fund performance, LP scrutiny, distributions and DPI, fundraising and exit routes.

Operating Partner

Portfolio execution, bench depth, integrating add-ons and proving value delivery.

Portfolio CEO

The board and PE owners — what they are pressing on, and where execution risk sits.

Executive Guide

For coaches, consultants and advisors: where they get pulled in, and which doors are open.

What it runs on

A daily pipeline, not a newsletter tool

Datavoris built the system end to end: the collection, the scoring, the writing for each seat, the email delivery and the public archive. CAARMO owns and publishes it.

Who it is for

Signal/Noise Ratio

Partners, operating partners, portfolio CEOs and the advisors around them in the lower middle market, where one hire still moves the trajectory, who would rather have one framed question than twenty summarised articles.
